The Thought Provoker

ABOUT THOUGHT PROVOKER

The sculpture Thought Provoker, located at the entrance of No. 18 Breeltevej, is the work of Niels Christian Frandsen. Standing two meters tall, it was carved from Bornholm granite, with leaves made of colored and white acrylic. A gift from Danish employees to the founder of the VKR Group, Villum Kann Rasmussen (KR), the sculpture was presented in 1991 to commemorate the company’s 50th anniversary. The sculpture symbolises “… the thoughts that grow as the company grows.”

Between 1991 to 2007, Thought Provoker stood in front of VKR Holding’s former headquarters at No. 10 Tobaksvejen in Søborg, north of Copenhagen. With the permission of KR’s family, in 2007, it was relocated to Hørsholm in 2007 when VKR Holding moved into its new headquarters on Breeltevej.
